Application
Plastic resins for Home Appliances
Resins for appliance housings, liners, panels and inner parts, balancing appearance, impact strength and cost.
Typical parts
- Refrigerator liners and inner doors
- Washing machine and air-conditioner parts
- Vacuum cleaner and small appliance housings
- TV back covers
- Control panels
- Water tanks and transparent covers
What the material has to do
- 01Surface appearance
Gloss, color consistency and freedom from flow marks on visible parts.
- 02Impact strength
Housings must survive drops, transport and snap-fit assembly.
- 03Chemical resistance
Refrigerator liners face fats and foam blowing agents; parts are cleaned with detergents.
- 04Processability
Large thin parts need good flow and short cycles.

Processing notes
For refrigerator liners, ask for ESCR-rated HIPS or ABS. ABS must be dried before molding; HIPS and PP normally run without drying.
