Application
Plastic resins for Electrical & Electronics
Resins for connectors, switches, housings and enclosures, chosen for insulation, flame retardancy and stable dimensions.
Typical parts
- Connectors and terminal blocks
- Switches, relays and sockets
- Circuit breaker housings
- Electronics and charger housings
- Coil formers and bobbins
- Meter covers
What the material has to do
- 01Electrical insulation
Good dielectric strength and tracking resistance (CTI) for live parts.
- 02Flame retardancy
Many parts must meet UL 94 V-0 or V-2 at the wall thickness used.
- 03Heat resistance
Parts near contacts and soldering need high heat deflection.
- 04Dimensional stability
Fine pitches in connectors need low and uniform shrinkage.
Recommended resins
| Resin | Why it is used here | |
|---|---|---|
| PBT Resin | Connectors, relays and switches; low moisture uptake keeps properties stable. | See grades → |
| PA66 Resin | Connectors, cable ties and breaker housings that need toughness and heat resistance. | See grades → |
| PA6 Resin | Housings and connectors; often glass-filled or flame retardant. | See grades → |
| PC Resin | Transparent covers, enclosures and meter housings. | See grades → |
| ABS Resin | Electronics and charger housings with good surface finish. | See grades → |
Grades used for electrical & electronics
Grades from our catalog that are commonly specified for this application. Open a grade for its data sheet, or send us your part requirements for a recommendation.
Processing notes
Check the UL 94 rating, CTI and glow-wire values at your actual wall thickness, not only the base resin. Engineering resins must be dried to the levels on the TDS before molding.
General guidance only; follow the producer's TDS for each grade.
How we help
- Grade matchSend the grade you use now or your part requirements; we return options with data sheets.
- DocumentsTDS and the COA for the shipped lot; MSDS and compliance declarations where the producer issues them.
- Own compoundsPA6, PA66, PPA and MXD6 compounds from our Jiaxing and Shaoxing plants.
Electrical & Electronics: common questions
Do you supply flame-retardant grades?
Yes, on request. Send the UL 94 rating, wall thickness and any halogen-free requirement.
Can you provide RoHS documents?
RoHS and SGS reports are available for our own compounds; for producer grades we supply the producer's declarations.
