Continuous carbon fiber prepreg PPS resin A630T-10V

PPS, also known as polyphenylene sulfide, is a thermoplastic special engineering plastic with excellent comprehensive properties. The chemical structure of PPS itself is quite stable, and it contains sulfur, a flame-retardant element. Therefore, PPS has excellent flame resistance. Ignite the test piece, adjust the flow rate of oxygen and nitrogen to observe the combustion situation. The oxygen concentration that just makes the test piece continue to burn is the limiting oxygen index. The higher the value, the better the flame resistance. The limiting oxygen index of pure PPS can be as high as 44, which means it has excellent flame resistance. PPS containing fillers or glass fibers has a higher limiting oxygen index and better flame resistance.

Pure PPS can pass the UL-94 V0 level when the thickness is 0.8mm. Basically, except for a few grades such as the super-tough series, the UL94 flammability of various grades of PPS belongs to the V-0 grade, which is the best grade in the UL 94 flammability.

The main use of PPS is in the field of electronic appliances, such as making transformer skeletons, high-frequency coil skeletons, plugs, sockets, wiring frames, contactor drums and various precision parts. Usually electrical equipment works to generate heat, and when overloaded, it may even cause the equipment to catch fire and cause a fire. Therefore, flame retardants are generally added to the production of engineering plastics for electrical equipment.
