PLA granulate for 3d filament

Polylactic acid (PLA), or PLA for short, is the general name of a class of polymers derived from starch extracted from renewable plant resources (such as corn) as the main raw material.

 

PLA has good mechanical and physical properties, good thermal stability, processing temperature 170~230℃, has excellent solvent resistance and degradability. In addition to biocompatibility, products made from polylactic acid also have good gloss, transparency, heat resistance, bacteria resistance, flame retardant and UV resistance, and excellent tensile strength and elongation.

 

The improved PLA material not only has the strength, mechanical and physical properties of ABS material, but also has a low shrinkage rate, and does not produce the odor of heating plastic during the printing process. It can also be used as a support material for ABS because it is easier to tear it off the printing platform. To remove the PLA support material, the model can be placed in an ultrasonic support material removal tank containing water and caustic soda. The time and concentration of treatment depends on how much material needs to be dissolved.
