The addition of flame retardants may lead to a decrease in the mechanical properties of nylon such as impact strength and bending strength. However, as the requirements for various engineering plastics are getting higher and higher, nylon is reinforced and modified while meeting the flame retardancy of the product. Using glass fiber to reinforce nylon is a widely used method. Glass fiber reinforced nylon The product has the characteristics of high strength, high heat distortion temperature, low molding shrinkage, decreased fluidity, and greatly improved impact strength.

Some liquid flame retardants can improve the fluidity of the melt. Flame retardants are small molecular substances, and their addition can play a plasticizing role in the nylon resin matrix, thereby improving fluidity. The typical flame retardant MCA is both a flame retardant and a good lubricant.

Flame retardant PA66--The improvement of fluidity reduces the processing time, cost and energy consumption of thermoplastic materials such as PA66. All other properties being equal, materials with good flow are preferred in injection molding over conventional materials with low flow. High flow means lower injection or filling pressures and lower clamping forces required. Better flow also means lower injection temperatures, which can lead to two benefits: increased productivity through shorter cycle times, and lower energy consumption for injection molding.
