Polylactic acid (PLA), also known as poly (lactide), is a polyester actic acid polymerized from lactic acid. Polylactic acid has excellent biodegradability, compatibility and absorbability. Polylactic acid is a non-toxic, non-irritating synthetic polymer material. Its raw material is lactic acid, mainly from starch (such as corn, rice) and other fermentation, but also can be obtained from cellulose, kitchen waste or fish body waste as raw materials.
Advantages of 3D printing PLA:
PLA can print large models without heating platform and the corners are not easily warped.
PLA has a low shrinkage rate and performs well even when printing larger models;
Under natural conditions, PLA is transparent, and the printing effect after adding color is often bright color and good gloss.
The working temperature of PLA is lower than that of ABS, saving energy, and the printing model is easier to shape, with good surface gloss and bright color.
