High temperature resistant PLA material

Polylactic acid (PLA), or PLA for short, is the general name of a class of polymers derived from starch extracted from renewable plant resources (such as corn) as the main raw material.


PLA has good mechanical and physical properties, good thermal stability, processing temperature 170~230℃, has excellent solvent resistance and degradability. In addition to biocompatibility, products made from polylactic acid also have good gloss, transparency, heat resistance, bacteria resistance, flame retardant and UV resistance, and excellent tensile strength and elongation.


PLA pure resin is translucent or opaque granular amorphous polymer. The melting point is 175~185℃ and the glass transition temperature is 50~65℃.


PLA is composed of starch and has good biodegradability. After use, it can be completely degraded by microorganisms in nature and eventually generate carbon dioxide and water, which does not pollute the environment. It is very beneficial to the protection of the environment and is recognized as an environmentally friendly material.


When PLA is incinerated, it will never release nitride, sulfide and other toxic gases. The human body also contains lactic acid in the form of monomer, which fully indicates that this decomposing product has a high degree of safety.
