Polyphenylene oxide (PPO) is one of the world's five general-purpose engineering plastics. It has the advantages of high rigidity, high heat resistance, flame retardant, high strength and excellent electrical properties. PPO is generally in the form of khaki powder. The commonly used polyphenylene ether is synthesized from 2,6-dimethylphenol, which has excellent comprehensive properties. The biggest feature is that it has excellent dimensional stability and outstanding electrical insulation under long-term load, and it has a wide range of operating temperatures. , can be used for a long time in the range of -127~121℃. It has excellent water resistance and steam resistance, and the products have high tensile strength and impact strength, and good creep resistance. PPO has a wide range of uses in the automotive industry, such as instrument panels, protective bars, etc. PPO and PA alloys, especially those with high impact resistance specifications, are developing rapidly for exterior parts.
Used in medical equipment to replace stainless steel and other metals in hot water storage tanks and exhaust fan mixing fill valves.
In the electromechanical industry, gears, blower blades, pipes, valves, screws, and other fasteners and connections can be made, and they can also be used to make parts in the electronics and electrical industries, such as coil skeletons and printed circuit boards.
PPO has good insulation and good heat resistance, and is suitable for the electrical industry. It is suitable for making electrical insulating parts used in wet and loaded conditions, such as coil bobbins, tube sockets, control shafts, transformer shielding sleeves, relay boxes, insulating posts, etc.
