(1) Thermal properties: Polyamide 66 has a Tg of 65°C and a melting point of 260-265°C. It is a variety with a higher melting point among aliphatic polyamides and can maintain good performance in a wide range of operating temperatures; heat distortion temperature It is 70°C, but it can jump to 250°C after adding 30% glass fiber.
(2) Electrical properties: Polyamide 66 has good insulating properties, and its volume resistance and surface resistance are also relatively large. It is widely used as insulating devices (such as railway insulating parts) in power transmission systems. However, the various electrical properties of polyamide 66 decrease significantly with the increase of temperature and water absorption, so the modified products are often used.
(3) Chemical properties: Polyamide 66 also has good resistance to lubricants, aircraft oils, coolants, refrigerants, paints, cleaners, detergents, aliphatic and aromatic solvents and other solvents at high temperatures However, it is easily corroded by inorganic acids, certain oxidants, chlorinated solvents and heavy metal salts, so care should be taken when using it.
(4) Mechanical properties: polyamide 66 has high strength, hardness, stiffness and creep resistance, and has excellent fatigue resistance, so polyamide 66 can be used in gears, wires, etc., to reduce cyclic stress or vibration stress Under fracture or loss of mechanical properties.
