It is insoluble in any known organic solvents when it is lower than 175 degrees. When PPS is in contact with general organic solvents, plastic parts will not crack.
The mechanical properties of pure PPS are not high, especially the impact strength is relatively low. After being reinforced with glass fiber, the impact strength will be greatly improved, from 27J/m to 76J/m, which will be increased by 3 times; the tensile strength will be increased from 6Mpa to 137Mpa, which will be doubled. PPS has high rigidity, which is rare in engineering plastics. The flexural modulus of pure PPS can reach 3.8Gpa, and after inorganic filling modification, it can reach 12.6Gpa, an increase of 5 times.
PPS is used in the automotive industry accounting for about 45%, mainly used in automotive functional parts; Parts of the lamp holder. It can replace metal to make exhaust cylinder circulation valve, water pump impeller, pneumatic signal conditioner, etc.
